ADSI was founded as a computer service bureau but became a software product company after several customers asked if they could buy their own copies of ADPAC, a compiler written by Harris to speed up program development. The company subsequently changed its name to ADPAC Corporation and is still in business today with a focus on products and services that assist companies in modernizing or migrating their legacy mainframe systems.
