Description:

Nies founded Cincom as a contract programming firm but soon saw the opportunities presented by an emerging market for software products and began development of the TOTAL database system which was released in 1970. In 1976, TOTAL received an ICP award for sales in excess of $50 million. It is one of the very few software product companies founded in the 1960s which is still operating very successfully today.
